Translation begins with careful examination
of the source document. Here the original
manuscript is given on the left using a font
created from the scribal hand itself. In the
right column the text is then transcribed
using a standard font for easier readability,
along with verse line reference numbers.
Notes in the center column resolve textual
cruces caused by manuscript deterioration
or scribal error throughout its 70 leaves.
Once the source text is resolved, the next
stage is to parse the Old English into its
modern equivalents. Here the center column
employs a three-line structure, giving the
original, a word-for-word directly below,
followed by the modern English translation.
A complete glossary on the right provides
parse and alternate readings, while the left
column offers a running commentary on the
content, discussing all relevant issues.
