It is standard practice for a book launch to release a "Press Kit" announcing the event. These are sent to bookstores and news organizations with book review departments, in the hopes of stimulating interest and garnering publicity.
With self-published works this is less relevant, since the whole process inherently bypasses the traditional distribution network. Instead, book bloggers and social reading networks are approached in the interest of gaining interviews and book reviews. The following promotional materials were created to this end and packaged together with high-resolution cover art, bookmarks, a sample chapter, and an offer for a free review copy.
